A gentle tide is enough to relax anyone, or anyhorse, for that matter. The calming effect of mighty salt soaked waves crashing upon the rough sand in a gentle motion that seems so tiny for something so powerful can relax the most serious of viewers. The ocean can seem mystic to some, beautiful to others, and to a rare few it was god, something too untamable for any mortal soul to even comprehend containing.
It was on a beach like this that Stormy stood, in a night were the stars were mere buttons on a vast inky cloth, clouds woven into the strands of a great masterpiece. Tonight was a peaceful night for the mare, and she flicked her ears into a relaxed position as she padded down the beach, sand flicking onto her fetlocks from her large hooves. Her head was held in the relaxed position, not high and proud as it so often was. Her brown eyes were half closed, thick with weariness being relieved with each tired step down the windy shore. The trees and leaves rustled with the howling breeze that whistled it's joyful tune in the silky ears of the equine.
The mare's nostrils flared with each breath, her lungs expanding to accept the ocean air and deliver it to her body. Stormy's ebony sides heaved in a happy sigh. She was, at the moment, content, something she wouldn't often allow to take hold of herself for fear of becoming unaware of her surrondings, but she didn't really care if someone found her at this moment. She was far too levelheaded to panic at the sight of another horse, and too experianced to know that fleeing from and impending situation before anylazation could be far worse than a minor scuffle. Flightly nature was reckless in her book, and this mare was not a reckless horse.
And so, down the beach Stormy went, happy to be here, and not a care in the world. She paused for a mere moment to gaze at the horizon, and noticed how the churning sea eventually met the sky in a loving embrace, as though sea and sky were one being in this chaotic world. It was a somewhat peaceful thought. Somewhat.
